Green cable . . . and forgetfulness.

My new-and-improved Simple Cable Knit Bag is almost finished. All that's required is finishing work! Unfortunately, the wee room where my sewing machine and fabric is has been taken over for storage, so I'm going to have to fight my way back there to sew up the lining. The fabric, however, is awesome.

You want pictures? Okay.

There's the unassembled bag and the fabric. The beautiful bright green is Lamb's Pride (Bulky) in Christmas Green, although I think of it as more of a St. Patrick's Day green myself. The fabric was picked up at a fab vintage shop in Louisville, the Nitty Gritty . . . with a name like that, it's only fate that I would use it to line something I've knit. I should have enough left over to make something awesome, but since I'm not so talented with the sewing machine that will have to wait . . .

The pattern is of my own design. You can learn how to make this bag (and all about cables) in the spring session of the Knit Nook's cables class . . . information found here.

I really wanna work on my shrug, but I left one of the necessary size 10.5 needles at the Knit Nook yesterday. I swear, pregnancy makes you lose your mind. Things I've lost, thus far: a check to mail to the doctor's office, my cell phone, a check (made out to me) for a decently large sum of money. Thank God I found them all, particularly the check with my name on it! But seriously, I always thought absentmindedness was one of those made-up side effects. Speaking of the baby, ob-gyn visit tomorrow!!

Now I must feed myself (and the kid) . . . maybe a healthy lunch of grilled cheese with strawberries on the side. (Grilled cheese is healthy, right?)
