But first, a "green" tirade.
I am not Miss Mother Earth, but I do like the environment. After all, I'm a FFA girl. I grew up on a farm. I want my child to be able to visit farms and play in the grass and get chiggers and feed baby calves. I may not be fanatical about saving the planet, but I do like to recycle and not litter and not be wasteful -- just be conscious, y'know.
Apparently, the people at Kroger are not as concerned. I purchased three items, and each one was placed in its own seperate plastic bag. It should be noted that one was a six-pack of 20 ounce soft drinks, and I don't think that merits a bag in the first place. The other two were lettuce and a lint roller, which could have been put together. One bag. Less waste. How hard is it?
But, ah, the lint roller. Maybe it is glorious enough to deserve its own bag. After a million and one days of trying to pick yarn fuzz off of various shirts, I finally got a lint roller for my knitting bag. Because of its superhero fuzz-removing powers, I took a picture for you all, comic-book-style. (Further evidence that I am a dork).
Now, I have a shirt to de-fuzz.

It all depends on your cashier. When I worked there, I would never put big things like milk and soda in bags unless people asked. I'd recommend bagging your own groceries... you'll be happier with the way they're bagged, you'll be able to find your stuff when you get home, and your cashier will love you.
I'm all with you... except the chiggers part. Ewww, chiggers.
