Were I to sell the pattern for my Epitome hat, would any of you be interested in paying for it? If so, what would be a fair price? Of course, this must be discussed with Kristin, because I would want to make it available at the Knit Nook, but it might be a good way for me to earn a buck here and there while I'm unemployed. And who knows, if it goes over well, maybe some yarn stores in Lexington or other areas might carry it.
This is the hat (it's blog debut!) The pattern is written for multiple sizes. You can see the hat in person at the Knit Nook.

i already want it, so yes, i'd buy it. it is a great looking hat and i love my cashmerino....
I like the hat a lot, and would be very likely to buy the pattern. My advice: when I pay money for a single pattern, I expect there to be a wide range of sizes. At least three would be good for a hat, but 4 or 5 would be better. Of course, that is more work for you, but it might make the difference between people feeling like it's a good value or not. What to charge? I'm not an expert, but I can't see myself paying more than five dollars for a hat pattern. Maybe you can get Kristin to package it in a holiday kit or something with the pattern and a ball of Cashmerino Chunky for 20 bucks.
We've discussed making up kits before and decided against it. People always seem to want the color that you didn't include. As far as the pattern goes, Cindy says yes, but Kristin is the real boss.
Tonya--sell the pattern exclusively on your website, or hard copies in my shop too. Either way, we're all good with it JUST AS LONG AS WE GET THE PATTERN! Seriously, hundreds of people have asked me about it. I had to hide the hat in the back because everybody who sees it wants it.
And I think you should charge $5.00 for it. At least.
the hat looks awesome and if I had money to spare I'd buy the pattern! I really like it in the blue colour you've used =)
